Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Kind Of Man lyrics

Mama told me, when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely, to what I say.
And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.

Ohh take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come, and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you'll find love,
And don't forget son,
There is someone up above.

(Chorus)
And be a simple kind of man.
And maybe some day you'll love and understand.
Baby be a simple kind of man.
Won't you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself.
Follow you heart and nothing else.
And you can do this if you try.
All I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

Corrine Mayo
I remember when you were young ( about Petra's age) and you had broken your leg in 3 places. For all these years no one knew the whole story about that. Only after you passed did dad know what really happened that day. I remember it wasn't long after dad had built the deck out back....15 feet. I stood at the bottom of that deck and told you that if you jumped I would catch you. Well being a trusting young kid, you believed me and took the plunge.  Well for some reason unknown, I didn't catch you. That's how you broke your leg. You had on this cast on your leg that had to get replaced so often because you would use your cast as a brake on your little scooter bike. Just thinking back to those days makes me laugh. (Not that you broke your leg, but that we have memories of those days.)
